HOCKER, Donald E., age 88 of Centerville, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, peacefully after a brief illness. He was born in Galion, Ohio, on August 30, 1929, to the late E.A. Hocker and Alma Shumaker. He graduated from Galion High School and had a brief stint in the army before beginning his career at DESC. He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Agnes (Studer), and his half-sister, Colleen Hocker Schuman. HOCKER, Donald E., age 88 of Centerville, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 8, 2018, peacefully after a brief illness. He was born in Galion, Ohio, on August 30, 1929, to the late E.A. Hocker and Alma Shumaker. He graduated from Galion High School and had a brief stint in the army before beginning his career at DESC. He is survived by his wife of over 63 years, Agnes (Studer), and his half-sister, Colleen Hocker Schuman. Don and Aggie have five children: Deborah Fish (Mark), David, Darlene Anthony (Chris), Dee Ann Shannon and Daniel. They are also the proud grandparents of 14 grandchildren: Katie (Scott) Lee, Kristen Edwards, Kurt Edwards; Sara, John, Matthew and Mark Hocker; Cami (Brendon) Akey; Cory and Cassie Anthony; Dakota and Derrek (Jennifer) Shannon; Denny Hocker and Destiny Aguilar. They are especially proud of their six great grandchildren: Hunter, Max & Ava Lee; Audrey Hocker; Owen and Zoe Shannon. After retirement, Don worked part time at Main Auto and enjoyed socializing with friends at the bowling alley and playing cards. He also never missed his grandchildren's sporting events. Visitation at Tobias Funeral Home, 5471 Far Hills Ave., Thursday from 4:00-7:00. Mass of a Christian burial and celebration of his life will be at Incarnation Church on Friday at 10:30, burial to follow at Miami Valley Memory Gardens in Centerville.
