MASON, George A, born in Bowersville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Saturday August 5, 2017. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jyung Ja (Kim) Mason. He is survived by his daughter Susan K. Gruber and son-in-law Frank S. Gruber with their children Alex M. Gruber and Phillip R. Gruber. He is survived by one sister Mary Lou Gray, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his sisters Rachael Stethem and Rosella Powers. He was a veteran of the United...

MASON, George A, born in Bowersville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on Saturday August 5, 2017. He was 89 years old. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jyung Ja (Kim) Mason. He is survived by his daughter Susan K. Gruber and son-in-law Frank S. Gruber with their children Alex M. Gruber and Phillip R. Gruber. He is survived by one sister Mary Lou Gray, as well as several nieces and nephews. He is pre-deceased by his sisters Rachael Stethem and Rosella Powers. He was a veteran of the United States Army and served in Korea for 8 years, where he received the Purple Heart. George retired from the Defense Electronic Supply Center after 25 years. He also worked many years at General Motors Corporation. He was a member of the Grand Chapter of Royal Arch Masons of Ohio for many years. His hobbies included wood working and antique collecting. The family will receive friends at TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME - FAR HILS CHAPEL, 5471 Far Hills Ave. at Rahn Rd. Dayton, OH 45429 Wednesday, August 9, 2017 from 5 to 7 pm. Funeral service 10 am Thursday, August 10, 2017 at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Dayton 324 Wilmington Ave. Dayton, OH 45420.
