TATMAN,Golda Mabel (Branham); Heaven welcomed another angel when Golda M. (Branham) Tatman, 97, left us on August 7, 2017, in Bridgeville, Pa. where she had lived for the past 10 years. Born on January 27, 1920 in Boyd County, Kentucky, she was the oldest child of Rev. Sam and Marie (Thornburg) Branham. Golda spent her early years in Kentucky before moving to East Huntington, West Virginia, where she graduated with honors from high school. It wasn't long before she met the handsome Andrew Levi Tatman. They married on Sept. 1, 1940, in Germantown, Kentucky, the start of a 51-year marriage that brought six children, 12 grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. They moved to Dayton in 1943. Our hard-working mom had a flair for numbers and spent many years working for local banks, at Town and Country Furniture in Miracle Lane Shopping Center and, finally, as office manager for a pair of Dayton businessmen well past her 80th birthday. Golda was preceded in death by her husband, Andrew L. Tatman; granddaughter, Bridget L. Tatman; brother, Paul Branham; and, sister, Dorothy Urton. She is survived by her children, Carolyn Kay (Jerry) Stadt of St. Petersburg, Fl.; Timothy A. (Kathy) Tatman of Marietta, Ga.; Donna M. (James) Reed of Ormond Beach, Fl.; Christopher P. (Delores) Tatman of McMurray, Pa.; Kevin D. (Betty Mae) Tatman of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and Bruce A. (Carol) Tatman of Brownsburg, Ind. She also is survived by 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; brother, Samuel T. (Jean Ann) Branham of Naples, Florida, plus numerous nieces and nephews. Our independent and spunky mom was a devoted follower of Christ. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church for many years before joining Far Hills Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, charitable contributions may be made to Baptist Mid Missions, P.O. Box 308011, Cleveland, Ohio, 44130-8011. Graveside service 10 am Monday, August 14, 2017 at Miami Valley Memory Gardens. TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-FAR HILLS CHAPEL in care of arrangements.
